AAM and Alcon Team Up to Equip ECPs: Keeping Eyes Healthy, Not Just Pretty

For many people, colored contact lenses are a popular choice to enhance their appearance. However, the aesthetic aspect often overshadows awareness of long-term eye health. This is where the role of Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) becomes crucial—they must be able to provide recommendations that not only boost consumer confidence but also ensure healthy eyes.

To address this,  PT Anugrah Argon Medica (AAM), a subsidiary of PT Medela Potentia Tbk together with Alcon—a leading global eye care company providing a wide range of eye health products—organized a special training session for 70 ECPs from Optik SEIS across Greater Jakarta on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Social Pot, Lotte Avenue, Jakarta.

The event began with opening remarks by Mrs. Tarida Nadapdap, Group Business Marketing Manager CHP & SPC AAM, followed by an educational session delivered by Andri Agus Syah, OD.FPCO.FAAO, an optometrist who emphasized why recommendations for colored contact lenses should prioritize eye health. He highlighted that beauty alone is not enough—consumers’ eyes must remain healthy even with daily contact lens use.

The program continued with a make-up class led by professional MUA Farah Lisani, themed “Eyes & Style: Helping Customers Choose Their Perfect Color Lens.” In this session, ECPs learned how to select the right lens color to suit consumer needs, complete with a live make-up demonstration featuring one of the participants as a model.

The highlight product was AIR OPTIX COLORS, a monthly silicone hydrogel contact lens—the first in the world—allowing up to six times more oxygen permeability compared to other colored lenses. This ensures that eyes not only look beautiful but also remain healthy.

The training concluded with a networking lunch, enabling participants to expand their knowledge while gaining deeper insights into Alcon’s high-quality eye care products, marketed and distributed by PT AAM.
