AAM Enhances Knowledge of UGM Pharmacy Students with Distribution Site Tour

PT Anugrah Argon Medica (AAM) enhanced the knowledge of students from the Professional Pharmacist Practice (PKPA) program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada Universit (FF UGM). The site tour aimed to provide students with a closer look at the quality distribution processes of pharmaceutical products and medical devices at AAM's National Distribution Center (NDC) in the Jababeka Industrial Area, Thursday, June 20, 2024.

A total of 42 PKPA FF UGM students were welcomed by AAM's Supply Chain and System Director, Mr. Stephen Febianto Kusumo; HR Business Partner Manager, Mrs. Lucy Christiani; Quality Assurance Manager, Mrs. Sulviria; National Distribution Center Manager, Mr. Suyatno; National Distribution Center Associate Manager, Mr. Hazbil; and other AAM representatives.

In his presentation, Mr. Stephen emphasized the importance of a standardized and efficient

distribution process in maintaining the quality, efficacy, and safety of principal products.

"With a reliable and integrated distribution system using a warehouse management system,

AAM ensures the quality distribution of various health products, produced by our principals," said Mr. Stephen.

In addition to utilizing a robust distribution management system, AAM also possesses market

condition insights, which provide a competitive advantage. "AAM develops various tools to have strong market knowledge. Good distribution is not just about delivering products but also understanding market opportunities and conditions. Ultimately, it's all about customer satisfaction," added Mr. Stephen.

Subsequently, Mr. Suyatno guided the PKPA FF UGM students on a closer look at the facilities and technology applied at AAM’s NDC. The NDC is divided into three storage types: Ambient Room, Cool Room, and Cold Room. AAM's NDC also employs the Selective Pallet Racking System technology, which enables the organization and retrieval of products within the NDC through a systematic approach.

The NDC site tour received positive feedback from both students and faculty. Mr. Puguh Indrasetiawan, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt., a lecturer from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM, noted that observing the distribution processes of pharmaceutical products and medical devices and the facilities at AAM provided new insights that are not typically covered in

university courses.

"As far as I recall, distribution quality is not extensively covered in lectures. Therefore, collaboration with AAM is a strategic move for us because distribution quality is an integral part of the pharmaceutical product supply chain," said Mr. Puguh.

After touring the NDC facilities, Ms. Lucy Christiani highlighted that AAM offers career opportunities for UGM students interested in the distribution field. AAM opens opportunities to join the Supervisory Development Program (SDP), a platform for new graduates to advance their careers through a fast-track path.

PKPA UGM students also received a presentation on Quality Assurance (QA), Good Distribution Practices for Pharmaceuticals (CDOB), and Good Distribution Practices for Medical Devices (CDAKB), delivered by Ms. Sulviria, online on June 18, 2024.

AAM, a subsidiary of PT Medela Potentia, operates 38 branches and is trusted to distribute global and national principal products across Indonesia, trusted for more than 4 decades.
