Argon Peduli and BBPOM Jayapura Join Forces to Provide Health Aid to Fire-Affected Residents

A devastating fire broke out in Kampung Nelayan Dok V Bawah, Mandala Village, North Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Papua, on Monday, August 31, 2026. The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. local time, destroyed hundreds of residents’ homes and affected approximately 550 families.


As part of its commitment to supporting communities affected by the disaster, PT Medela Potentia Tbk, through Argon Peduli, and PT Anugrah Argon Medica (AAM) Jayapura Branch, in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Food and Drug Authority (BBPOM) in Papua, distributed 422 health products to residents affected by the fire.


The donation was handed over by AAM Jayapura Branch Head, Mr. Binbin Fajhar Chrisma, together with Head of the Jayapura Food and Drug Authority Office, Mr. Herianto Baan, S.Si., Apt., accompanied by AAM Jayapura Logistics Section Head, Mr. Djimas Adji Widjanarko. The donation was received by Mr. Yoga, representing the affected residents, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the relief post in Kampung Nelayan Dok V, Mandala Village, Jayapura City.


The distribution of health products represents a tangible form of support for residents during the emergency response period. Amid the challenges of losing their homes and access to everyday necessities, maintaining access to essential health needs is an important part of supporting residents’ well-being while they remain in temporary shelters.


“We hope that these health products will provide meaningful support to the affected residents, particularly in meeting their health needs while staying in temporary shelters. For AAM Jayapura and Argon Peduli, being present for the community is a reflection of our commitment to providing care and support, helping residents navigate this difficult period,” said Mr. Binbin Fajhar Chrisma.


The distribution of 422 health products is part of Argon Peduli’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact in communities, particularly for those in need of support during emergency situations.


Representing the affected residents, Mr. Yoga expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided to the fire victims. The collaboration between Argon Peduli, AAM Jayapura, and BBPOM Papua reflects the importance of collective action in providing meaningful support to communities affected by disasters.
