Argon Peduli Supports Health Screening at GBK, Reveals 52% of Participants Have Risk Factors for Non-Communicable Diseases

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) remain a major public health challenge as they often develop without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. This was reflected in the results of the Free Triangle Health Screening held at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, where approximately 52% of the 1,486 participants were identified as having at least one risk factor for NCDs.

The screening found that 32.2% of participants had high cholesterol levels, 24.4% had elevated blood pressure, and 6.3% showed high blood glucose levels. These findings underscore the importance of regular health screenings to identify risk factors early before they develop into more serious health conditions.

The health screening was supported by PT Medela Potentia Tbk (MDLA) through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, Argon Peduli, on Sunday July 19, 2026. The initiative was organized by Dharma Dexa in collaboration with RS Bhakti Mulia.

General Practitioner at RS Bhakti Mulia, Dr. Karinnia, emphasized that the high prevalence of risk factors highlights the silent nature of non-communicable diseases in their early stages.

"One important concern is that high cholesterol often presents no symptoms, leading many people to believe they are healthy despite already having risk factors. That is why regular health screenings are essential to detect these risks before complications arise. Programs such as the Free Health Screening also play an important role in raising public awareness and encouraging people to undergo routine health check-ups," said Dr. Karinnia.

In addition to blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol screenings, participants received medical consultations and education on NCD prevention and healthy lifestyle practices. This integrated approach is expected to encourage individuals to take a more proactive role in managing their health through routine screenings and sustainable lifestyle changes.

As one of Medela Potentia's subsidiaries, PT Djembatan Dua contributed blood pressure monitors to support accurate blood pressure measurements, ensuring participants received reliable screening results as a basis for monitoring their health. Meanwhile, GoApotik provided education on utilizing digital healthcare platforms, enabling participants to conveniently access health information, medical consultations, and healthcare products tailored to their needs.
