DAC Marks World Environment Day 2026 with Meaningful Action for the Climate and a Healthier Future

Coastal ecosystems in Cambodia, particularly in Kampot Province, continue to face various environmental challenges resulting from human activities, including rapid infrastructure development, illegal fishing practices, and land conversion. These pressures make coastal areas increasingly vulnerable and highlight the need for long-term conservation efforts.

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, Dynamic Argon Co., Ltd. (DAC), a subsidiary of PT Medela Potentia Tbk, conducted a mangrove planting initiative at the Trapeang Sanke Community in Kampot Province, Cambodia, in January 2026.

The initiative reflects the spirit of World Environment Day 2026, which carries the theme #NowForClimate. Promoted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the campaign calls on governments, businesses, communities, and individuals to take meaningful action in addressing climate change and accelerating solutions that create positive environmental impact.

Mangroves play a vital role in maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems. In addition to their ability to absorb and store significant amounts of carbon, mangroves help protect shorelines from erosion, preserve coastal biodiversity, and provide habitats for a wide range of marine species.

Through this mangrove planting initiative, DAC contributes to environmental conservation efforts while supporting the resilience of coastal ecosystems against the impacts of climate change. Each mangrove sapling planted represents a long-term investment in environmental sustainability and the well-being of future generations.

“We chose mangroves because of their tangible benefits to coastal environments. In addition to protecting shorelines, they provide habitats for marine life and play an important role in carbon sequestration. Through this initiative, we hope to contribute positively to the environment while encouraging greater awareness that sustainability is a shared responsibility,” said Mr. Ivan Setiadi, General Manager of Dynamic Argon.
