Webinar “Detection of IgM Anti Salmonella in Typhoid Fever”

Typhoid fever is a disease caused by an infection of Salmonella typhi bacteria. It is highly contagious, generally through food or beverage that Salmonella typhi bacteria have contaminated. This disease is positively related to low quality of personal hygiene and low quality of sanitation in the environment, such as slum areas, cleanliness of public places, and unhealthy lifestyles.

This disease is endemic in Indonesia and has become a public health issue. In most significant hospitals in Indonesia, there is a big increase in typhoid cases each year, with an average of 500/100,000 people with a death rate of 0.6-5%. Almost 100,000 citizens of Indonesia are affected by typhoid fever each year. This typhoid fever is named an endemic and severe health issue.

For that, it is necessary to have a laboratory examination to diagnose typhoid fever. TUBEX® TF is an examination kit that can detect an acute typhoid fever that PT markets. Djembatan Dua and distributed by PT. The TUBEX kit is equipped with a specific antigen LPS-O9 in Salmonella typhi, and this kit is more effective in detecting typhoid fever disease compared to other methods of examination.
